Hey all, so here's the deal. I compile my map, it goes for about 2 seconds, then says

"The command failed. Windows reported the error:
"The system cannot find the file specified.""

Whaaat? I tried moving the map around, changing the name.. So far no luck.

    Any idea what's causing this?

    That brush is your problem.
View > Go To Brush Number
    delete/remake it.

The reason you get "cannot find the file" is because compilation is three steps, each step feeding off of the result of the previous step. If the first one fails, the next two form a chain of "Dude, where's that file you were supposed to give me?"

Ok well now this is just wonderful because hammer crashes on the map load. It says out of memory file something or rather, line ######## (idk the real number), error 7

and the problem is now 10x bigger, because all my previous versions have the same thing, just different lines, same errors.

Mmm... sounds like that same brush is causing a loading error. If you would like, and still have it, send me the vmf and I'll take a look at it in notepad and see if I can't fix it up.
