So, im trying to get my map to feel like your actually above the clouds, the idea is that you are on this big cliff. Problem is ive no idea how to make clouds or anything that you can then see through a little to the ground/trees underneath, is there anyways to do this? Should i just use fog instead and have it sorta fade out?

I suggest using a fog controller. You could create the illusion of great height by using a 3D skymap for the ground below and add a fog controller which gets progressively denser.

Check out cp_vertigo which takes place on a skyscraper. This is a port of a CS map actually, which you can also download at fpsbanana under de_vertigo. It might give you some ideas on what to do to give the illusion of heigth.

Just taking a stab in the dark here, but maybe you tried putting a fog controller in the 3D skybox area, when really you were supposed to put the fog settings in the 3D Skybox camera object instead?
