    Across - An alpha of my first Koth map that curently working on.

    Hello fellow mapers.

    Today I am introducing to you my newest (and first ever) map that I am currently working on. Map as you may see is called "Across" and is in King of the hill type gamemode.

    There isn't much to say about it for the moment as it is only alpha and all that is there is going to change with newer updates from your feedback and my ideas. But for now I can tell you that Across is an hell of corridors and trains passing every few second, with addition of extraordinary layout of the map in shape of letter U (and yes, the respawn rooms are in front of eachother).

    And here are some of the screen shots of "Across"

    Beater will be if you go watch the map with your own eyes.
    So go Download the map and have fun playing it with your friend or what ever you want.

    Judging from the screenshots the map looks pretty solid, I'll have to run around in game for an in depth review though. I don't like that big open space in the third screenshot however. Try to add some height variation of some type there.

    I haven't had a run around in it yet, but the screenshots certainly look interesting.
    Just one piece of advice - hold off posting your maps to the steam workshop until they are late beta/release candidate, as your map will only have a small amount of time from its initial release to get peoples attention, which is harder to do if your map isn't in the later stages of development yet.

    I SAW YOU TRY AND GET PUBLICITY FOR THIS MAP ON MUSELKS CHANEL SHAME SHAME no seriously I learned this the hard way don't do any form of publicity until testing on the tf2 maps servers is done or you are a veteran mapper with hours of experiance just a bit of friendly advice :)

    I haven't played the map yet but judging by the screenshots it looks quite interesting. Although, you should put some cover in the area where you took the third screenshot and (possibly if it suits the area) a displacement. It's a very large sightline and it's flat making it very overpowered for snipers.

    I'm going to fill that place with some stuffs in the future but for now it's an big open area with no purpose.

    Well, when it comes to that posting map on workshop I also think that was a mistake and I shouldn't do that yet but as you can see I posted that 13.02 on workshop and 17.02 here all because I didn't know about that community so I posted first there but in short it was a big mistake.

    It was late in the night and I was having stupid ideas :D

    Don't worry about it I just thought it was funny had a run around like the map it's way better than my first map but I'm gonna leave critique until a game day

    I had a run around your map. It is good for your first map, but it doesn't mean that it doesn't have flaws. Area at a third screenshot is flat and gives a huge vantage point for snipers. They can spawncamp from above. Add some signs to lead players where to go. Spawns are small, I suggest extending them. This sightline is really bad

    Now, train doesn't have a purpose to be here. I have an idea to make it more functional. You can make it more usefull when you make the train go from the spawns to the point. Jumping classes can jump on it with rocket/sticky jump and non-jumping classes have to go to the upper area, which would make upper area usefull.
    Gates opennings and clossings are a bit off and by that you can get stuck on a train.

    Ok I repaired some stupid things like that sight line and now train is going in reversed direction so I hope it is better. And why no one told me that I wrote Alhpa instead of Alpha :oops:

    Beside that i added some textures and hopefully repaired some errors that should be props.

    You should really use standard naming convention when making/updating a map, as most computers won't override the old file with the new one if downloaded while in-game.
