Decided to start work on this again and name it after the movie Dr. Strangelove

Near completed CP 1 and CP 2 and may leave the map as a 4 point CP map.

Was thinking of trying a new take with 4 CP it willl be like Well/Granary but the 2nd points can be capped at the same time.

I was planning on putting the strangelove round-table in the map, just finding a location for it first

The distance fog sets a nice tone, but I caution you against the dark upper reaches of the map, as anyone up there is pretty invisible.

Haha thats funny, Dr.Strangelove was set in the same era as TF2, Im sure Valve took some inspiration as did Icarus and I!

yeah, i noticed that they also got most of their inspiration from James Bond (pyro's suit (Dr.No), wall maps (you Only Live Twice), spy taunts , etc.)

actually the whole pyro now that I think about it is a parody of Dr.No

Valve didn't make that map. Nonetheless, that's rather eye-opening. Now I'm curious how many other maps were deliberately modeled after real stuff or movie sets.

Hydro's bowl point has a huge contraption hanging above it which is exactly like the device in Goldeneye.

Man I loved this movie. I watched it again today after seeing this thread and its still as good as always. But the name strangelove for a map? Maybe cp_control.
