Sorry lilatomic, this thread should be locked or something because this project died a while ago for some mysterious reason.

this community project must not die. I refuse to see a community map try failing. Just wth.

Just be realistic :)
It won't ever work. There's always some school, friends or other real life things that take up more of your time than imagined and the project bleeds out. As cool as it sounds, you'd rather make some cool smaller collaboration projects with 2-3 guys and see how that turns out. A project of that scale just won't work with so many tough problems decide to come up.

Yeah, huge mapping projects don't tend to work as I've found out. Both times I got in the community projects early, did some stuff, then flomp (<---sound effect of project failing.) A higher number of projects with smaller groups of people might work better, like 2-3 people groups, but then those people would have to accept their project will not turn out exactly how they like (one reason I've experienced group projects to fail.)

I'm lucky, I don't have school, or friends, or real life to worry about. Sadly however my video card is half-broken

Half the guys working on the layout didn't actually do anything.

If anybody does try this again maybe keep it with 2-3 people working on the blocking stage for each stage of the map. So 2 people for stage 1 blocking, 2 for stage 2 etc. This way the blockers can work with the other people in their section rather than upload a random area of a map for somebody else to fit together.
