While I'm still working on Redstone (Beta 2 out soon) I began working on a new map.
It's a 5 capture point map and I'm planning to release Beta 1 in 1-2 weeks.
Looks awesome. I really admire your mapping skills. Most custom maps look pretty bland, even the popular ones. Yours make me want to aim higher. I might even miss the deadline for the contest because of that, but I doesn't matter. I'm not going to finish a map for the sake of finishing it. Unless my map is at the eyecandy level of redstone and this I'm not going to release it .
Looks like you modeled it after Badlands. However I like Redstone much more than Granary so I can't really say anything against you on that part. Still, I'd like to see refreshingly original maps rather than the same old formula ones.
its a shame its going to be a 5 point cp map, really they are the least popular maps even the valve ones, i'd like to see you make a map of this visual standard that plays like dustbowl or gravel pit, i really think for tf2 this style of gameplay works the best - and certainly judging by what players vote for on map change (vanilla servers) its gonna be dustbowl/gravel pit/2 fort or badlands that will come up most frequently - with badlands being the newest map its hard to gauge whether its just because its new or whether its the first decent 5 point cp map valve have made
the screenshots are awesome however is there going to be some theme to the map like redstone?
if I was to give you one criticism (btw the map looks very very good, good job.) It would be that your detailing is rather monotonous. I would try to do something other than windows for building walls, explore your options more.
