Chateaux - 3CP Attack/Defense

Any suggestions would be much appreciated! I'm open to all kinds of ideas, since I have only been working on TF2 Maps in earnest for about 1 month.

This is a 3 CP Attack/Defense style map.
I hope to make a medieval themed visual (not medieval mode gameplay), unless too many people consider this confusing, in which case I would rework the buildings into something more appropriate (most likely alpine)-- but I would frown because TF2's medieval things are great.

Yeah, I didn't even notice them in that spoiler. Still not 100% used to this forum. You should either edit the first post of this thread to make them more easily accessible or add them as images in the downloads area.

It looks like it might be a little underscaled in gameplay areas and possibly difficult or confusing to navigate, but that's a quick impression from the screenshots. Submit it to a gameday or get it into an impromptu test to see how it plays and get feedback from playtime. Feedback just from people looking at it is all but useless.

I already fixed the screenshots.
I will try to remember to check the game day thread whenever it comes up for this week. I usually have to work on weekends, so I missed even seeing it for this past Saturday until it was too late.

I'll be starting a game day on Fridays and posting the thread a bit in advance for it. Hopefully you can enter into that one.

you might want to use the naming system like a1a -> a1b for small changes like that. just in case someone downloads the map before you fix the problems.

Even though they were hardly noticeable? It was just one gap in a displacement and an overlapped face. Is that enough to justify a new letter?

Yes, because if you alter a map and don't change the filename, anyone who downloaded it previously will be unable to load into the map because their bsp differs from the server's.

I am doing a major overhaul of displacements, boundaries, and light entities right now

I have already corrected the height issues at point C.
Full change log will be posted when version a2 is uploaded. :D

I have done a major update to the map based on the feedback from the last gameday play-through.

Some key improvements:
  • A number of extraneous side-routes have been removed.
  • More clear direction of routes to each control point
  • Main routes are more clearly marked.
  • A number of drop-offs have been made safer
  • One-way doors were removed
  • Baby's First Displacements have been redone
