REQUESTS (wait list, by number)
1 quite a bit, will update later (x)

Hello.
I've been loving TF2 for a long time racking up (yes, it's not much.. but it's still something.) 1000 hours.
And I've been wanting to contribute in my own way, for a long time.

I would like to take requests for certain sound scapes for specific environments, a sound theme for the entire map or things around the map like water dripping, electricity buzzing.. whatever you can think of.

You might think, what's the point? I can just scrape them off freesounds.org, or other similar sites, perhaps even from the half life engine.. is what almost everyone, always seems to say.

The point is,
- for one.. that it will, without a doubt sound better than generally anything pre-downloaded from a site.
- it can be adjusted to however you like, it is properly treated and taken care of and adjusted to your map, prop or event
- there are more possibilities as to what you can do with animated props and such
- it can help you give a better feel for your map

Audio is generally not really thought about, and even under-appreciated at times. But what's a horror movie without all the intense music leading to a certain scene, or sound effects to accent a certain action?

Why am I doing this?
I love TF2
I studied audio engineering so I love audio, sound design and anything related to it
I want to spend my free time doing things like this, much rather than playing the game

I have a field recorder, large diaphragm condenser microphone and an analogue synthesizer.

Do I have something to show? (or rather, have you listen to.)
Most certainly, unfortunately.. music is missing and so are some sounds, due to multiple problems with my computer at that time.. which now have been resolved. The very small amount of short music in the beginning was also done by me.

(The video is made by MechaFourth, I removed the audio and did everything from scratch.)

The only TF2/HL sound used was the shotgun. Other than that everything was recorded, made and layered.

The helicopter for example, is not a helicopter. The sounds were made with a synthesizer.

Thanks for your time. :p

Nice service! Once I get a map to beta, I'll be sure to contact you.

Thanks! Looking forward to it.

Edit: If anyone is interested, I highly advise to shoot your requests. If I happen to get involved in some projects.. it'll take time before I can get to yours. I don't have any now so I would be able to get right to it.

I've always liked the desert at night, if you could get some basic wind howling with distant rocks pebbling (did not expect that to be a word)

Care to show the map it's for? Screenshots, anything? I don't want the work put towards it be a waste, of course.

I don't mean to sound rude or anything but I don't want to make anything that serves no purpose, I really want it to be for an actual map that's a work in progress, or even finished, or whatever.

Again, my apologies if this seems rude but that is not my intention.

This is a very noble cause, so thank you for helping us out.

I need a true soundscape for MVM Underground. Top MVM map on the map workshop - #21 most subscribed map - 4,400 subscribers - has been played by thousands.

Anyway, the map has been using CactusV.RespawnB for the longest time now (Same as Bigrock), but it truly needs its own sounds. The default soundscape is echo-y enough, but any sort of dripping, wooshing, and random clanging in the soundscape will definitely add to the atmosphere of the map.

Feel free to download the map and run around on it:

Also you can play it on Potato's Servers here:

Oh, and this is the skybox I painted for the map:

Awesome! Especially digging the skybox, looks fantastic good job on that.

I will add you on steam for further discussion.

I currently have an Easter Egg in my map involving the detonation of a nuclear bomb. I do have the sound of an expl;osion for it, but it's not ominous enough to my liking. When I was a child, I loved to watch this show called "Sliders". In one of the episodes, they sent a nuclear missile into an asteroid to prevent it colliding with Earth. I'd love to have a sound similar to that: a nuclear explosion that sounds distant, but is still loud and ominous.
Here's the episode I'm talking about:

At approx. 34:15 you hear the nuclear explosion.
A sound like this would be super cool. Here's a screenshot of the nuke in action:

I already have a sound for the low continuous rumble you hear after that. I just need the explosion.
Thanks! Oh, and it's not urgent :)

To me, sound is incredibly important, no matter the theme. When I was working on a L4D2 arctic map, I went as far as to ask on a bird specialist forum what kind of birds I should search sounds of to fit the theme.
And when I made a creepy/haunted map, a lot of the people said it's the sound what made it really unsettling. I remember taking the stock Wilhelm scream, reversing it, slowing down the pitch and give it an echo. When people heard it they were like "OMG did you hear that?" :)

Valve really should add that in the next "Gun Mettle". MvM needs new blood

Should be easy. ;)

I'll get to it when I'm done with Woozlez's request!

I normally don't do music requests, but I'll slap something together.. I cant stick a date on it yet, though. I'll do my best to give it a matching TF2 theme.

I will have a look later today.
Sweet, no rush.

Try using the MvM unused station. Maybe it fits well
Whats the name of the sound file? Trying to locate it.

edit: Found it. Why did I not know this already existed? I guess I'll use it, atleast for now. Thanks!

Definitely think you should use that, seems like a perfect match and has the TF2 feel to it.
