Yeah. Work on the skybox. It looks bad, plus http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1490725/arena_hardhat_b20001.jpg shows the map is floating.


The first Clipcheck of 2011!!!! Hardhat is so simple, this is more a normal feedback post than a clipcheck. Most of the following applies to both sides of the map, so fix it on both sides. Only one, maybe two, don't apply to both sides.

That's actually dev texture. So on top of the fact that you need to texture that doorway wall (and the doorway's ceiling), fix the lighting wizardry going on.

The nails along the wall, the saw, and the tiny box of nails are all solid. Make them not. Also, on each doorway for that middle shack on the side, you've got different textures for the doorway wall. On one wall, dev. On the two inner, the same texture as the inside of the shack. On the other door's outer face, you've got metal. Even it out, make it uniform.

Clip the pole on the right so that I may walk out on the right side of the door and not get stopped. A simple angled clip will do the job.

What is the point of this. I ran that direction with the intent of walking off the ledge. I was prevented from doing so by a tiny shin-high wall that I barely saw that seems to serve no purpose.

A similar issue to 0008, clip the pole at the doorway so I don't get stuck walking out.

I can get stuck sometimes when I go to walk down this ramp, consider making it a non-solid func_brush and just making a clip ramp inside of it with a cutoff to be flat at the top.

This is something nobody else has elaborated a whole lot on, but the dirt texture needs to be scaled down to 1/64 or 1/32 if 1/64 is too repetitive looking. It's just so pixelated, and I can see each individual grain of dirt!

Also, I think the building that houses the point is a little dark inside, something that nobody has seemed to mention. Just a little too dark, not a whole lot, but enough to be uncharacteristic of TF2.

I just kinda noticed this corner of the building is a little bare, consider putting pipes or a poster or something there.

I found a few other things that Little already posted, but that's about it. It's been a couple months since you've released anything, and I don't want to see this die. :<

this is a good arena map that could use some good detailing and maybe a bit of layout tweaking. every damn arena map on here becomes a koth map and it's just stupid.

And, I like Hardhat as an arena map, I played it a bit early on, but reallly enjoyed it.

Problem is that (last time I checked anyway) you can't run an arena map on a regular server, it fucks all the configs up. Consequence of this is that we never run arena maps on the playstuff server. Also arena servers are much rarer than regular ones.

I reckon that this would make a good KotH map with a few buffer areas. But hey, that's just me.

Either way, I'd be interested in seeing hardhat finished, hence the bump. :3
