Don't be fooled by the name this isn't a Resident Evil map I could'nt think of a better name but then I saw a Resident Evil Afterlife Trailer I was like hey Arklay Mountains so why not. (I know the movies and games are not related) ok to the map description.

Think of this as a larger 2fort with some aspects from well and the original 2 fort. there are many entrances to both bases to watch out for. This isn't a set up a sentry and leave map a good solider or demoman can rocket/sticky jump into the courtyard with ease and with 3 ways into the Intel room in both bases your going to need to beef up security. you may notice hey I brought the red/blue intel to our intel room and it didn't capture....well that's because like 2fort classic you have to bring it to the roof (3F) to the 2fort inspired sniper deck to where it says "Capture Zone".

be sure to keep an eye out for my Easter Egg to a game coming out in 2011

This is hardly RC material. Your stairs aren't 12x8 and from what I can see, the platform beneath the intel must be jumped upon (unless it's clipped).

It looks like the center is a clone of 2fort. Looks like it'd be a sniper festival without any cover.

This just looks like a /slightly/ modified, retextured version of ctf_2fort.

Edit: Ouch, ninja'd.

Edit2: A crappy clone, due to the missing bridge and sniper cover.

Sawmill has (semi-)bright buildings, and uses appropriate lighting. Your map is just gray and sad and...meh.

compared to sawmill, there's very little detail. When you see the buildings in sawmill, they have props coming off, they're slightly dilapidated and they have character. This is the same will all good maps, they have detail and character. Your map, as everyone else has pointed out, lacks the detail and character of these maps. Hopefully you can make it look better in later versions.

Also, the separate capture zones may confuse newer players, but in regards to the layout, I'd like to see how it plays out.

Alright, short critique on screenshots alone:

- Your buildings have no personality
- Everything is grey
- Everybody will end up sniping due to the distinct lack of cover anywhere at mid
- If you want to use sawmill's theme, don't just take the skybox and weather elements into it, make your buildings fit too

Yeah I'm not seeing the well in this. The word I would use to describe the theme is drab, and your screenshots not of mid look pretty tight.

Remakes (of Valve maps) get a lot of flak here, and in a few ways rightly so. The whole point of mapping is to make your own map, and what I've learned from experience here is that uniqueness and individuality will always get you bonus points, so if you want more respect for you map, don't take elements directly from others. If you really like how they play analyze their function and recreate it in a separate way.

Roll it back to alpha and start testing it and redo the detailing. ;)
