Possibly, the first compiling process is not compiling due to an error(such as a bad displacement... or something else.). That compiling process is responsible for rendering the world and entities. if the first compiling process isn't completed, the compiler doesn't render the vvis portion, so the only thing that compiles is the vrad, which compiles lights. Check the compile log, and if you see any blatant errors that make the compile very short, than I'm right!
