I've done export the models from 3ds max and successfully imported into hammer.
Add me and I might help you the situation you are stuck on.

I've been messing with propper and got brushes to compile to models, but now im wondering what files i would pack into the map. there's the qc file and smd file in a folder in my C directory and the mdl file somewhere in the /steam/steamapps/name/ etc. thanks
Also,
I get this error in my compile log, though it still compiles.

I too would like to see some screenshots of this map. Particularly how you justified making it take up a whole quarter of the grid. I opened up Hydro in Hammer just now, and it's not even that big.

I have a very large open area, its a small town inside castle walls. It's brush count will be high and i will be making models using Propper to decrease the count. I will also be making it a christmas themed map. Im gonna be working on converting our "Doku" texture pack and making the objects like fencing, doors, ladders etc so they'll be ready to put in when its done. And ill post screenshots when im done if you want.
One of the reasons im making a minecraft map is to test just how much i can convert using sourcecraft program to convert minecraft maps to tf2 maps. It's still very new so ill need to manually make stuff too. I did not make this program, Garten from the minecraft forums did.

That sounds suspect. I bet that's where most of your issues are. It's probably converting underground caverns and stuff that aren't even accessible from the surface, making buried ore veins into their own brushes, that sort of thing. You're either going to have to do a lot of manual consolidating or just start over and copy the Minecraft map from scratch. The good news is, you probably won't need to resort to using Propper when you're done.

not much is needed to fix this, its possibly because of a displacement at that coordinate. Atleast thats what my compile log tells me. But nothing to worry since its nothing that will effect really much.

the program allows me to set the y low and high as i want, so i set it to 62 which is 2 blocks under sea level up to the top of the sky. So the underground doesnt render, im also using a flat world with no caves or ores, just stone under grass. So far we have created alot more then i wanted in the beginning. I have around 8000 brushes, Im hoping Propper can help me take away from this count.
