FAQ
"Can we detail an existing map (ie: Dev Textures)?"
Yes, as long as there was no detailing done to the map prior to the contest and it was made by you.
"Will sound also be judged as detail?"
The judging process is, essentially, people walking through each map and voting on whichever they liked best. So you should add anything that would help improve the 'experience' of the map. This includes logic, sound, animations, etc. I'd recommend some cool soundscapes though, it would really add to the environment!
"How far is too far when using out of theme assets?"
If somebody can't easily recognize what theme you're trying to go for, you've definitely gone too far. Try to get some outward perspective on your map. You are also absolutely entitled to @Katsu! :3 on either the site or Discord in case you need help as well.
JUDGING
The Judging thread will be available 3 days after submissions are closed, and will remain open for 1 week. Everyone is welcome to judge, however you must follow these criteria:
1. You cannot Judge your own entry. (for hopefully obvious reasons)
2. You must judge based on a scale of 0 - 100, using 50 as an average score.
3. You must provide scores for every submission.
More info will be available when the judging truly rolls around, but expect this.
THEME THROWDOWN
Basically? You have three themes to choose from, per contest. Whichever theme you choose will be how you detail your map for said contest.
