TF2Maps.net Custom Map TF2 Server?

I'd use it, provided I could get a decent ping (I'm in the UK) and it was decently populated. Like I told immortal, I'd probably donate to the upkeep as well.
So how does this work exactly? Does that mean there will be one game per server or multiple? I'm in Montreal so I'm definetly going to consider donating.

I for one would love this. But the group only has about 20 active members right now, so I don't know if you'd find it worth while. On the other hand, there really aren't enough custom map servers right now. On the third hand, it would be a great way to showcase everything on the site. Hmm, I'm kinda stuck right now.

good point. i think the major issue would probably having to fill the server when its empty. i would have no problem joining in for 20 30 minutes just goofing off trying to fill the server after work. all it takes is 4 or 5 guys in there and people will start to join automatically. Once we get name recognition it will fill itself.
You guys donating would help me out a lot towards servers costs, so I would definitely appreciate that. But only do so if you can, dont want anyone going homeless and not be able to map
Well it still sounds like a great idea, would it be an open server or with a password. I know my clan loves trying out new maps and I could get 2 - 5 of them at least to come try some new stuff out and give us suggestions. They're not the best players but they're very respectful and love having a good time.

Do you speak french too ?Open server is the way to go! and 24 slots please! My guess is it'll be so much popular that we would need another 24 slots server lol! Everyone wants to play NEW maps. They're tired of playing the same 6 maps again and again!
I don't think anyone in Montreal has a choice but to learn french or move to Ontario. I'm in Verdun, but Laval??? What are you doing way out there man!

Meanwhile, back on topic, I'd be interested in seeing a TF2Maps server. Great way to test our maps and have open discussion afterwards.

We were talking about that at the start of the group. we would have a rotation of the best custom maps made by TF2 Mappers' group members. And on fridays or such we would have a "new map day" where everone could try out their newest maps and if any were really good they could be voted into the rotation.
Just a suggestion, there is already a custom maps server up for some other group and NO ONE PLAYS IN IT. I think it has a lot to do with it not being much fun about 75% of the time due to no normal map rotation. We should set up the server so during the week we have at least two or three standard maps and on Friday do the awesome custom map battle and then leave the custom maps up until Saturday night. On Sunday we vote/discuss on the forums to see which maps stay and which go. That way we keep it fresh and attract people to the server to keep it loaded. No? Maybe?
