    I want to make my own TF2 mod. Including

    -New menu
    -New classes
    -New sounds
    -New weapons
    -New animations
    -New game types

    At first I need help with;
    -Menu linked to host or join game
    - putting my classes all together to choose from when playing a game.

    lol...

    This is not possible in the slightest. What you can mod on an existing game is very limited, and almost none of what you listed is possible with TF2. You cannot make almost any of what you listed. If your interested in making a mod of that scale, it will have to be standalone. Better go learn some c++.

    From your original post, that leads me to ask this. Do you have any developmental skills at all? Are you atleast a moderately skilled c++ programmer? Are you a level designer? Are you a modeler? For an entire project you need to be extremely sufficient at all of these things OR at one of them, and have a team of people that can do the others. There is no option to just drag and drop things as you want them, and bam, you have a mod...

    I'm sorry but u can only modify either hl2sp or hl2mp for ur mod, everything else should be coded in c++. So u're going to write tf2 from ~0... Just like Fortress Forever team did. ;)

    well...in theory a server-side mod could handle a few edits to existing classes, new sounds, different models for the weapons and different damage settings, and new gamemodes...
    but more likely then not, doing all of that would be alot to download from a server and you would be limited severely...

    check out this page http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Category:Modding
    it might be able to help you
