I recently returned to tf2 and tf2 mapping. I am kind of losing my mind why loading a map in game (via console: map mapname) takes a consistent 20+ seconds for me no matter the map, be it a simple box with a single spawn point, to ctf_2fort, to more bigger in file size 100MB maps.
This in my opinion is absurd and really slows down iterating for the type of map I want to make (jump map).
Is this just how the game is now? Has it always been this bad? (or even worse because slower computers in the past). 8 years ago I seem to remember to nearly instantly being able to load into a map (not counting the compiling).
