Anyways, I'm not sure if it's the correct term or not in the topic title, but this is a common problem I've noticed when I map. Areas in the dark seem to have lines, in a way it looks like the textures ripping to me. In the light or right up close they seem to disappear. I'm not sure what's causing it.

I've also noticed, as you can see in the screen shot, spots of light appear on the walls too.
Even when I put lights in, you can still see it in the distance in the darker areas. It doesn't happen in any of the default maps or other custom maps, it only seems to happen when I'm mapping so I figure I'm doing something wrong.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
