strange lighting

Well, first off I'd just like to say hello to everyone here at tf2maps (this is my first post).

Recently I've run into a strange problem that I know must be easy to fix, or maybe it's just meant to be that way.

If I create a map with two very different lighting setups for example: a room with a red light inside and outside a blue light, or even just a dark vs light area it gives a strange effect depending on how close you are to the source. lights fade out the farther you get away from them, and if they were lit darkly and the other area is bright the area that was dark fades out to be bright like the area your closest to. Why? Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks guys

Two things come to mind... 1, your are compiling with and running under HDR without properly implementing it, or 2, you are using materials that are in the \models\ directory as they have funky lighting effects if used on map geometry.

Yes it was the materials, that is very funky indeed. I never would have figured that out on my own, thanks man!
