stagnant_Alpha

    After much laboring over simply making the map itself, I finally have the alpha for my map! Introducing cp_stagnant, an attack/defend map spanning 3 stages (similar to dustbowl), staged along a stagnant river.

    It should be noted that my alpha is not professional quality, obviously... For some reason, my cubemaps wont build, so I have a very... orange and purple and green map for some reason. Especially the water. It thinks something is wrong with my skybox.

    Aside from that, I hope you enjoy playtesting it for what it is, and that you provide helpful feedback so that I can prepare for the making of the beta!

    EDIT: also, don't use mediafire for the DL it's a crappy site D:
    Tf2m has a file uploader on the site, just click the downloads section and hit the "add" button.

    Finally, name the map like this: gametype_mapname_version
    For example, cp_stagnant_a1

    I gave it a look, and I think its a great layout, Some areas feel a little too big, like the distance between the first and second points in stage one, and some areas too cluttered, like the second stage, but I like how youve used verticle space well.

    As for cubemaps, tf2 compiles them differently, you have to put all this into the console:

    sv_cheats 1
    mat_specular 0
    buildcubemaps
    mat_specular 1
    retry
    mat_reloadallmaterials
    sv_cheats 0

    Thanks for the info on how to build cubemaps but... it didn't work. While that may be the right way to do it, it still has an error pertaining to my skybox that is preventing me from building cubemaps... http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=15083

    Edit- Found the uploader, sorry about that! I'll also update my map name. Originally I couldn't because I have text ingame that points feedback to "stagnant_alpha," but I just noticed that my doors for the RED TEAM aren't working, and that I have to go back and make Alpha7 now so... I can edit the text this time around.

    Edit2- Does anyone know how to change the displayed gamemode? When I play my map, it says it is a Control Points map, instead of an Attack/Defend map (like dustbowl), and the objectives are wrong... it still functions like an A/D map though. Anyone?

    *screen goes blank, then a picture of the REFLECTIVITY 50% texture occupies half the screen and this comes up*
