Hey,

I've been trying to create a roof for a building in my map, however, when I keep it as world geometry, it looks really stupid.

So I tried turning it into a func_detail like other guides online say to do, but when I do that, I don't know how to make it roof shaped.

I haven't the slightest clue of what to do, so if somebody could explain how to make a roof to me like I'm five years old, I would appreciate it

Making a brush a func_detail won't change how it looks, just how the compiler compiles it, and you can also still modify it like any other brush. To change the shape of a brush, I'd suggest learning how to use the vertex tool. Using this, you can move the vertexes of an object around independent from one another, to create shapes other than cubes and rectangles, though do be careful, as if two opposite faces aren't parallel to each other, this will create an invalid solid, which Hammer doesn't know how to handle. Hopefully this helped?
