Drill - Request complete

model%20request.jpg

I could really do with these three made into props. The drill roughly needs to fit with the nucleus arms/supports.

The low right image, I require both a "left" and "right" version (basically a mirror flip of one)

the up right image, I need something similar to that, but please feel free to modify the design to make it better.

many thanks to those willing to help

Request complete, I decided against using the laser idea.

Always important when asking for models is to give a good idea of how many units of space a modeler is able to take up, so that a very specific size goal can be met.

Also any screenshots of the area in which the model is to be located is also important, context is absolutely essential for the model's success, especially with such large and demanding objects.

I have given reference sizes for 2/3 of them, first being the drill, where I stated "It needs to be connected with the nucleus arms and such". the second image stating that I would like the device in the bottom middle to be able 200 units length. The third, I didn't state, but I wouldn't mind being about the same length as the gravel pit laser.

plus, I haven't started work on the final points, as I would rather build around the props.

On the contrary, it's actually better if you build the stage around the gameplay, and focus on those things, keeping in mind how big you want your model to be. A brush can act as a place holder until the model is finished and in place. The only reason a model would need to be built very first is if it were a gameplay element (an example of this would be the frontier 'lil chew chew' where special attempts were made to ensure the train had enough space to pass and how players would interact with the train throughout the level.

i like the drill design - i could definately picture a model out of this. i worked on a different drill for a buddy of mine, but never got around finishing it, so that's why your drill construction seems really tempting to me :D

would you want a drill, like on the 1st pic or more like this onehere:
http://craziestgadgets.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/usb-drill-drive.jpg

but the two other things are too rough as a concept to model from - just speaking for me, though. what is the thing in the middle and on the right, really ?

edit: apart from that, you should really listen to Big Rexy. he's just right, that you should do a mockup with brushes first. cause these models are not some minor props. they sure take some time to benefit to your map !

would I be able to have a drill like on the first image. it looks really nice :p

The thing in the bottom middle is an energy holder, they'd be in sets of 4, with the laser cannon behind it. (Think of it like the death star, a ring of smaller lasers on the outside all meeting up in the middle, and then the big laser to push it all forwards from the centre)

on the right is the laser cannon, but what I drew there was just a general image of it, I wouldn't mind if someone improved upon it when making it.

May I suggest Radical Environmental Drilling rather than Big Ass Drill?

Professionals have standards.

oh shit that's epic. if you able to make a small section at the top which can fit in with the side arms of the nucleus tower, then <33333

Thanks so much for helping (y)

I actually still really like Acumen's first drill...call me crazy, I think one mega drill is much more fascinating than a bunch of sub-drills. Either is nice though.
