I'm very excited to see what people have been making.

Also I've had a few people ask about having more time, since it was a short time to begin with. I'm not objected to it, but let's see what those of you participating think. If we get crazier awesome results, all the better.

So yeah, considering my previous lack of capability to get my mind working on a proper project, I decided to jump into this both to make sure all the knowledge I had accumulated worked and to try and make something interesting.

For various times in the past months, the concept of the Blackest Night from DC Comics had been nagging me as something with the vibrant colors which were very similar to what was expected from TF2. Except that the whole variation across the spectrum made it impossible to ever use the theme. Except here the idea was specially to create as big as a colorful clusterfuck as possible, so I jumped right in.

I wanted to at least try to make some semblance of gameplay, even if its size is directly imposing restrictions there, so I've finished blocking out, optimizing a bit, as well as adding the main elements of visual interest. I've now started to add slight decorations based on various recurring symbols and I'm also starting to craft the skybox to it's highest potential with this theme.

It has actually been quite enjoyable working with those restrictions, even if I'm currently at a bit of a loss in which direction to take it currently.

Independent of the date being postponed or not, I will not have much time next week to work on it, so it's really fine either way by me.

My head hurts from mapping it. I'm not sure whether to add any amazing lighting effects becuase a) I'm really bad at lighting and b) It doesn't really look that great with it.

I went down the industrial/secret base look rather than the "GAAH MY EYES ARE MELTING GAAHHAHHAHAHA" bright colours look.

I was originally going to make it all run down with vines and stuff (kinda like portal 2) but the vines ended up screwing themselves up every time I opened the vmf up.

Incredible stuff guys!!! I'm going to extend the contest a bit since I think this thread is a good way to show the amount of creativity being utilized. I'm going to enter too I think, but I've barely started.

Although my second entry won't really be greatly detailed and will rely heavily on bots (if I can get them to melee only) providing we are allowed to use them and it won't be judged on just screenshots
