Oh Dear, Is This Even Possible

    I just so happened to think how nice it would be if in my CTF map, the winning team would have an epic spectacle to behold at the round's end.
    Is it reasonable FPS-wise (or even possible) to have a particle effect for nearly every corridor of an entire 2fort-sized base being incinerated?
    Essentially, you bring a bomb to the core of the enemy base CTF style, and whichever team loses gets their whole base exploded. Starting at where the bomb itself was placed, (this is always a set position in the enemy team's base of course) the force of the blast, traveling quickly down the hallways and simulated physically by trigger_push, trigger_hurt, etc, will kill anyone in the base itself as well as disgorging plumes of fire and whatever physics objects were caught in the blast, out its openings. There will be a short delay before the blast allowing any of the winning team, possibly including the carrier himself, to escape.
    My questions are, rather, is it a good idea as a kind of 'reward' for succeeding, and is it even possible to accomplish?

    It would, theoretically, be possible. One could make particle systems for corridors of specific size, and firey explosions coming out of the base. Done well, it would look good from outside, but would require very specific sized windows and exits, and would like kind of meh from within. I am available to be contracted into this project.

    That sounds awesome. Like at the end of a round of Titan mode in Battlefield 2142.

    Some particles (note: rain and snow, maybe all, I don't know) fade at certain distances. If so, then this is completely possible.

    sorry if i ask my own question here,
    can i get a rocket to blast off,as in a nuclear silo, once the intel has been retrieved. it would blast straight up, with the appropriate fire affects at the bottom?

    There is a simpler way that I have attempted but not bothered to finish. It involves killing everyone and then only enableing a single spectator camera when is watching a cinematic explosion on the facility or what ever the area you're playing in is.

    Owls suggestion would be a lot easier, but it depends on how immersive and unique Dr. Kilpatient wasn't this thing to be, because looking at an explosion through a spec cam reminds me of pretty much any Finale Explosion where I end up dying in the first second and neatly watching the aftermath from the same fixed point.

    No reason why it shouldn't work. Trigger a logic relay that does the necessary explosion on round end.

    I've been planning something like this, but honestly haven't been fucked with the modeling necessary to make it happen properly.

    I like your idea a lot, though it would be worked a lot more like goldrush. Only people who would see the messed up version (inside the building) get killed, and their could be 1 or 2 more angles to it.

    Here's a basic version of what I'm talking about, I cobbled it together in a day and a bit, so the explosions aren't very nice and it's obviously not finished, but tell me if this is around-about what you're looking for.
