Lol, okay. Now THAT'S out of the way....
I have this idea for a map. You see, I've been playing TF2 for about a year now. And, what I always seem to find the most frustrating is that even if you become the best skilled person in the world. (i.e. as a sniper/spy) You can still get easily uber-pwned by a nub pyro or a soldier. It's frustrating, to say the least.
Well, I wanted to design a TF2 map that focuses on having SKILL. You might be asking, "Well... How the poop would you do that?"
Well, it's simple really. You set up the map kind of like a 'game show' or an obstacle course.
Both teams would have 'obstacles' to overcome, identical to eachother. And, whoever overcame those obstacles first would be able to capture the point (or intel, haven't completely thought that part out). So, this map would captilize on good snipers, scouts, and maybe even demos and soldiers.
The types of obstacles could be things like:
- Moving platforms you have to jump around on. Could only be done by a scout.
- Far away targets/moving targets that have to be shot. Sniper would be good here.
- A puzzle that would have to be solved. (I don't know how to do the scripting here, but something like... Maybe only an engineer could cross and they have to get somewhere, creating a teleport there. But once they create the teleport, only another class could get to the end. Something to that effect.)
- And, to appease the masses, a brawl at the end of the obstacle race between the teams, which would both be trying to get the capture point. (But only if both teams reach that point at the same time, or close. The ending capture point would need to have a semi-long capture time.)
Note: All obstacles would have a goal. Like shooting a button or destroying something. These actions result in a door opening which leads the team to the next obstacle.
