I'm betting the TFC classes are just a joke for the comic and aren't related to the actual game at all.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if they did some TFC-styled cosmetic sets for the classes.

Because the TF2 squad is totally going to kill them and take their hats.

I'd have said they'd just be reskins for the regular classes but their skeletal structure is so radically different they'd all need new animations.

Which leads me to believe Valve is either ludicrusly insane and going to do it. Or it'll never ever happen. (They've never made any models for any of the other comic-referenced characters excepting the scout's mom, and that was only for SFM so she is likely a) incomplete and b) animationless)

Someone suggested that "Engie acts like he's dropped off the face of the planet" is a moonbase reference, but I doubt it. For one thing, i suspect that the comic won't reach the moon before the map is ready, unless the next episode takes place in australia and the moon.

In fairness though, the first blog post for this series of comics did say "nothing in the comics is related to future updates".

If they wanted TFC items, I'd expect to see accessories modelled on the original clothing, like that set on the workshop based on the TFC heavy
