Modifying tf_english.txt text strings per map/through console commands?

    In my current map I'm attempting to modify the Headless Horsemanne into a new monster, I should have no problem editing the model and sounds but I've run into problems when it comes to editing the various text strings that appear such as 'YOU ARE IT' etc.

    Editing tf_english.txt does work, but if I pack this into the map it'll override any updated file that will come in future updates so things such as new weapons would have broken names.

    I've searched around and haven't been able to find anything like the methods used to write custom mission briefings (mapname_english.txt), so besides hunting for console commands that let me edit strings on mapload or simply living with it I'm out of ideas.

    If anyone has any ideas of how I could do this I'd be happy but if there's no way to do so I guess I'll just have to get used to the annoying pop up text, thanks in advance.

    Im quite certain this is not possible
    I tried out a bunch of ways when I wanted to try to replace the ".. has captured the intel" hud messages, but never found a way
    Just modifying the tf_english.txt wouldnt be enough anyways seeing as many people have tf2 in another language than english

    You're probably right about it not being possible, but if it were I would have likely done crappy translations for all the languages
