I want this to happen and im not sure if anyone else want's this to happen, so this is my way on finding out.

You know the left4dead server system?
If not it allows the everyday person to click create server and he gets the option of making it for himself and people on his LAN, or he can create a server which everybody can play on well.

On team fortress2 however the only type of server we can make using the create server button, is LAN.

I think it would be useful and cost effective for clan members and website owners to be able to create a server for everyone, like you can on l4d.

So does anybody think this is a good idea or not, and if valve could do this?

TF2's system into L4D, though... God that'd be amazing. It would make custom mapping so much more worth it.
I wonder why Valve moved away from their other matchmaking in L4D. I'd at least like an option to use a functional server browser in order to access >150 ping severs and lobbies.

Because you need three other players for the most enjoyable experience.

You can using the normal server browser by typing "openserverbrowser" in console, at least in l4d1.

I wouldn't mind seeing this option added, but on a toggle so you can disable it or enable it when ever, and only for competitive type gaming, 6 v 6 stock maps.

If you use a custom server that has the map, yes you can.

But then again... if you had a server, using tf2lobby is redundant (unless you have trouble populating your server). I still think a simple lan idea would be fine. I don't want to open my ports myself... too lazy.
