Hello! Never made a map but have dreamed of making one since 2015

Greetings everyone! Kindly ignore my title, you may simply call me gnome! For the longest time I have been wanting to get into making maps and similar items for Team Fortress for a long while. In truth it started for me in middle school of 2015, with the absurd idea of maps themed around low lighting and the underground the "Black Out" update as my friends took to the idea. The whole idea was underground maps like the movie "Journy to the Center of the Earth", and above ground were just familiar maps with less lighting from a lack of australium to power anything. With a pretty decent computer, I have finally decided to try and make maps! I have absolutely no experience so I have a premonition this will be a trial and error system until I make my dream maps come true!

I learned how to make maps by watching videos on YouTube. A lot of people recommend Crash's tutorials.
