Didn't you win an 8800GT a while ago? I have one of those and I can put most of my settings on high and some to medium with 2x AA and I never go below 15 FPS (which isn't really that bad in-game).

LOL can you play games at 15 FPS? srsly 15 unplayable, at leats for me. I can say a good FPS is 28 the minimum rate ingame, so you will get >28 FPS. Our eye sees around 25 FPS, so having less than 25 is not normal for our eye.

have you guys played it with the cinematic mod? Looks great although I dont feel like playing HL2 , EP1 or EP2 more than once. Ive followed the Cinematic Mod since number 4.

I was talking to a friend who has valve contacts working on ep3 and they recon that the release date wont even see late 2009, we've got a long wait but it will probably be worth it
