This right here is the reason why I do not intend to allow them use my map...
2 main things, 1st spelling errors in a submission format they want everyone to use...
2nd, the way this is worded makes you think that you retain the rights for your map, while actually saying that they get them...So...by allowing them to use your map, you are now representing them, and by representing them they own your map...

Oh, and the company may very well be legit, but the person asking for your map may not be a part of the company and just using it as a front...

No, it clearly says that you are merely asserting that you are the owner of the map and therefore have the right to allow someone else to link to it.

If you have no company to represent, then it means you're representing yourself as your own company.

i enjoy scaring the hell out of people, but I still do stand by what i said, i used to make a hobby out of reading contracts and picking out the areas which are designed to trick you along with other flaws

EDIT: nope, i read the entire thing again and at no point does it refer to you having a company, so by above company it can only be referring to its own company

but honestly, even if they were to steal your map what exactly are they going to do? try and finish it? There is next to zero monetary value in a map for a pre-existing game, and if they just want credit...then really, who cares, its the internet.

But yeah...its generally a good idea to be suspicious about offers made over the internet, its kinda fun too ;)

Has anyone actually sent a reply yet? I mean, are we certain this isn't an elaborate hoax to get our email and send us spam?

I have replied through a pm with some question.

I do find it very strange, that such a professional organization would get a bunch of beta versions for a release inclusion with a magazine.
all the official email addys on futurefrance are futurenet, so it could be right....

err nowhere does the official site mention offices in paris, nor any links to futurenet.fr
it does link to futurenet.co.uk
the whois from futurenet.co.uk looks totaly different then from the .fr.

Im not trusting this. how come futurenet.co.uk links to a proper webpage, but futurenet.fr is a redirect?

If that was the case, I'd just rename it...not even the bridge is the same as the one in that version anymore.
