Heyo. Today I'm just gonna run through what the different gamemode types mean on my Custom Maps Collection. Hopefully won't go too long. A reminder that just because a certain objective is only officially used either symmetrically or asymmetrically (ie, the flag) does not mean that it cannot be used in the other way. An open mind is always useful.
Flags - Gamemodes in the "Flag" category use the Intelligence Briefcase as its primary objective.
Control Points - Gamemodes in the "Control Points" category use Control Points as their primary objective.
Payload - Gamemodes in the "Payload" category use the Payload Cart as their primary objective.
Deathmatch - Gamemodes in the "Deathmatch" category use Killing Other Players as their primary objective.
JACK - Gamemodes in the "JACK" category use the J.A.C.K. as their primary objective.
Vs. Horde - Gamemodes in the "Vs. Horde" category use a "One team has Permanent Lower Numbers" structure.
Infection - Gamemodes in the "Infection" category use a "When you die, you are on the enemy team" structure.
Training - Gamemodes in the "Training" category are meant to assist a player in Honing a Certain Skill.
Domination - Gamemodes in the "Domination" category use the idea of Maintaining Control over a Map's Space as their primary objective.
Sporty Modes - Gamemodes in the "Sporty Modes" category use a Nondescript Ball or similar Physical Activity as their primary objective.
1-vs.-All - Gamemodes in the "1-vs.-All" category use a 1 Player Against the Rest structure.
Destruction - Gamemodes in the "Destruction" category use The Destruction of an Object as their primary objective.
Hybrid - Gamemodes in the "Hybrid" category utilize Two or More Other Modes to create their own gameplay.
Applicative - Gamemodes in the "Applicative" category can be applied to other gamemodes inside hammer.
Singleplayer - Gamemodes in the "Singleplayer" category are Meant to or Best Played Alone.
Gameplay-Altering - Gamemodes in the "Gameplay-Altering" category modify the way another gamemode is played while not modifying the gamemode objective itself.
Social - Gamemodes in the "Social" category are gamemodes whose objective is Determined by Who is Playing them.
Competitive Format - Gamemodes in the "Competitive Format" category are gamemodes that are made with a Specific Ruleset in Mind.
Boss Fight - Gamemodes in the "Boss Fight" category use Defeating NPC Bosses as their primary objective.
PVE - Gamemode sin the "PVE" category use a "Everyone is on their own, Teams do not matter" structure.
Collection - Gamemodes in the "Collection" category encompass other gamemodes via something linking all of them. These contain what would otherwise be categorized as a Single-Map Mode.
Other - Gamemodes in the "Other" category are gamemodes that do not fit in any other category.
