Ok so this is simple: Every func_detail I once had in my map is now normal world geometry. Idk why. I can't turn anything to func_detail as it automatically reverts to world geometry.

I would love not to have to trash the map because of this, so any suggestions?

It's not just the occasional bug with Hammer where it won't recognise brush entities properly is it?

Just closing the map and loading it back up again fixes that.

Make sure you have the right selection mode toggled (Ctrl+W), also avoid the 'ignore groups' option when working with brush entities.

If you have the ignore groups checked brush entitys wont "show up" on the right side you have to select "objects" or "groups"

    It think thats the problem.

Like they said, make sure :ig: is off, because when it is enabled all brushes you select will seem to be non-entity brushes.

It makes a certain amount of sense, since if you take multiple brushes and turn them into a single entity, you're effectively grouping them. The fact that they don't appear to be entities when you go to "Properties..." is a side-effect of allowing you to move them independently of the entity they represent.

It's handy of you have a bunch of little brushes as a single func_detail, trigger, nobuild, etc. and you want to resize or move just one of the brushes.

Yeah I guess I was just getting confused. Since I had to decompile an old .bsp to get my map back (it was bugged and crashed hammer) it separated all my grouped func_details into single func_details.
