OK, so just starting today, whenever I go to compile my map, Hammer freezes. By freeze, though I mean a big one: There is no way to quit hammer other than by ending it's task. Furthermore, I know that it is not a temporary freeze like it used to be, since it has been "compiling" for over 6 hours now. Im going to start with a full cold boot, since it has been about 2 weeks since I have restarted, but if that doesnt work, does anyone else have any ideas?

Do you have any idea what stage the compiler gets stuck at? My first guess would be after running VVIS.exe (you can check by CTRL+ALT+DEL and looking in processes - check for the one with the highest CPU/RAM value). If so, you need some of what's called "visleaf optimisation". I can't post links to the VDC right now (internet filters suck), but search on there for optimisation (level design).
