Fading Walls?

I want to have a wall that essentuially fades like a mirage when it is triggered.

Is this possible? I sort of doubt it.

Your best bet would be to have multiple walls behind it, right next to each other, each more opaque then the last, and then have them slowly fade into each other.

Sort what they did for the falling pit in this thread. Abyss darkness illusion.
