Directory issues

My bsps are going straight into my documents folder, even though I've repeatedly pasted the full desired file location into the hammer configurations for it multiple times, and it shows the correct locations in the textbox, I've restarted my computer and relaunched hammer a few times as well, what do i do

One question: are you using Hammer, Hammer++, or CompilePal for compiling (or another option, I forget what all is out there)?

I'll assume Hammer, but depends on what you use to compile. Could you share a picture of these locations? Might help with troubleshooting.

Another option is to join the discord and ask the mapping help channel because there are way more knowledgeable people that check/reply in there.

Also, during the compile, if I'm compiling a map with an identical name to a previously compiled one in the documents folder, it still looks for it in the listed folder and bugs out and shuts down the compile.

And if I try to copy the bsps in the documents to rewrite the ones in my maps folder, it registers a change but doesn't actually change anything when i load it up

Sounds like there might be something with either the compile failing or something in your compile options creating a problem. I'd recommending posting your compile log as that may reveal both why the compile is failing, but also where in the process the map is being copied to your documents folder.

Other things that might help diagnose the issue would be whether you use the normal compile window or the expert, and if using expert was anything unchecked or any parameters added?
