Custom BB code?

Could we have a BB tag that would auto-link it's contents to a VDCwiki page by that name? i.e. [VDC]func_door would link to here
I know nothing about the backend of forums or how easy this could be done, but I'd love it.

it is feasible to do such a thing...but I have limited understanding of exactly why it would be useful...
considering the purpose of the forum, the only reason someone would use these tags is to link to the vdc with the purpose of helping someone...and maybe its just me, but I always check that a link I give is functional, by clicking it...provided someone would do that they would easily just be able to copy the entire link and do a proper link...it would take maybe an extra 15 seconds to do this using the method currently in place

so...i dont know...it just seems pointless to me...

While normally I do as you say, when I'm linking to entities it's just extraneous tedium. I know the names of the entities and I know the pages on them exist. The whole point of BBcode is to streamline the posting process and make it easier. Very few of the codes that exist do I ever use as it is, and over half I've never used in all my years posting. If it's difficult I wouldn't want anyone to bother themselves, but if it's a 5 minute thing it'd be nice.

phpBB has a really easy custom BBcode adder, not sure about vBulletin. Either way, it'd be a neat thing to have, whether or not it would be easier to open the VDC and copy paste a link.
