Hi. I had some thoughts on the map if you'd be willing to hear me out. Dunno the direction I'm taking this so excuse me if I leap around a little bit please.
I don't really understand why this little inlet is here. It feels like more of a route for defenders to get some cheap kills on players just trying to move out of spawn, which imo would be a frustrating thing to deal with even if it's one of those "One-time things." I don't think the health kit really helps that but I also think that it could be moved anyway, somewhere to where attackers can take more advantage of it rather than having to rotate weirdly longly for "+40hp", y'know?
I feel like if you really, really want to keep the cool spiral staircase thing, it should probably be set back into the rock wall here and made as more of a definitive easter egg in the map rather than something that feels like an advantageous route to be taken. I know when I first loaded into the map, I thought it was an important spot to go to! ...only to find out that it was, well, a neat little thing for flair. There's nothing wrong with having those, but I think they should be out of the way so gameplay can shine rather than getting in the way and potentially annoying players when they want to actively try playing the game.
Kind of in response to the previous thing; I really, really don't like how spawn is right now. It feels like a lot of the routes are really separate, and the geometry doesn't really flow smoothly together (mainly talking about the spiral staircase). I think what you could do is have something like the Badwater BLU spawn, where it's a corner of the spawn building. Here though, I think it'd be more advantageous because it offers up visibility to all routes at once, allowing players to make a more active choice rather than letting monkey brain kind of guide them to 'insert route here,' if that makes sense. I think too that you could afford some windows in the spawn building, it allows players visibility into the fight coming for them and ngl it just makes the building feel not as isolated from the rest of the map.
I feel like you could get away with maybe reworking this into a more solid flat ground area along the tracks, and having that small part on stilts serve more as a cellar for something. I feel like the cart would feel pretty precarious sitting on that weird dip in the sand and having a more solid foundation with it, alongside maybe opening up a doorway into the wood on the left would make for a really nice detail space while preserving gameplay for the most part. I think it'd be a bit more fair to defenders too, cause with the cellar option you'd be able to see players using the flank and respond accordingly.
This bridge definitely feels precarious, which I don't think it'd feel like as such if there weren't a fatass payload cart that takes up a third of the walking space. This is definitely a major spot where combat is gonna happen and having it be so dangerous to traverse makes me... honestly kinda not want to push the payload, out of fear that I'll get airblasted or I'll frankly accidentally walk off the edge while trying to get someone off of the cart. I feel like it'd be easy enough to just widen out the bridge and maybe have some guardrails here.
I just wanted to say I really liked this forward spawn, I think it's cute.
That's all I have for now. I have some more thoughts but I think I'd rather trial how you feel about these changes and see what happens from there?
