I'm thinking an overhaul of the whole layout is probably what's best for the map. I'm going to put the points more in a straight line, make the map more linear, and then move the spawns backwards when points are destroyed. This should make it more of a loss when a point is lost, while also giving the defending team a better chance to react as it takes longer to reach the next point.

Sounds good! Make sure there are routes around the forward points so that the same defensible positions can't lock the offending team out and away from the rear points.

You might need to increase the timer from 20 seconds if you go linear - not sure what to, though.
