Barracks - Fight in a medieval town with the help of your faithful minions

Welcome to Barracks, my submission of Ye Olde Contest (Unofficial Medieval Contest).

A fairly standard symmetrical medieval map (3CP with KotH timer), except that points generate minions! Each team's base, and each secondary control points create bots every few seconds that go towards the objective and attack nearby enemies.

Medieval changes: Gas passer is allowed. Engineer can build buildings. Teleporters are speed pads, sentries is a tent that works like the points and create a minion...

Le Codex updated Barracks with a new update entry:

[A2] Less confusing, hopefully

  • Removed side control points. Replaced them with a simple tent that's not cappable
  • Reworked bot movement. It's still jank, but less jank hopefully
  • Removed bot collisions with players
  • Reduced the number of bots spawned
  • Made bots ignore cloaked/disguised Spies
  • Changed the timer to a regular timer (so this is now regular 3CP)

[A3] Jank b-gone

  • Bots no longer fall through the map. They may still have weird movements or get stuck, but not much I can do once they're off the navmesh
  • Flattened the area outside spawns to prevent getting stuck on teleporters
  • Made sentries properly show blueprints while being carried
  • Made tent models smaller to better represent the hitbox
  • Added trimp spots across the maps
  • Angled some rocks to better serve as ramps
  • Reduced cap time for mid and lasts
  • Taught the mage bots to...

Le Codex updated Barracks with a new update entry:

[A4] Project organization is hard

  • Turned off Sprinkles melee for now. It still uses the weapon whitelist but no more balance changes
  • Bots only deal 15 damage now
  • Reduced the number and frequencey of bots (tents now only produce 3 waves)
  • Updated the animation to be less buggy and more readable
  • Reduced the cap time of the points
  • Updated mid
  • Added proper trimping spots from spawn to mid and over mid
  • Properly ordered the points on the HUD
