Area Portals in Vertical Space

I will try to make this post as useful as possible (starting with the title). I have been trying to seal off an an area with an area portal. This area however, is not your averrage doorway. It is the top level of a tower. I have tried and tried to no avail. The strange thing is that only one tower (there are 2 identical ones) has been giving me problems. As you can see in the screenshots, I have a strange looking pointfile. The game crashes when I load the map. Without them, the map runs, but apparently crashes when you get to the highest level.
Any input would be very nice.

see the window that the line is going though? put an area portal in there, and all the other windows and doors, infact ANY way you can get inside the tower.

Yeah, I guess Youme's right, I couldn't tell if that window was open or had a area portal in it. It's kindof blu like one but that could be sky.

Also, the areaportal that's in the ramp might end up giving you trouble too. I think you have to be very careful about not overlapping terrain so the ends need to match the angles they touch. Not positive but if you get a leak there after sealing the windows that might be a cause..

Area portals can't leak at all, they are like mini versions of your map. Think if it as: Can I trace a line going from one side of this area portal o the other side? If you can, that hole needs to be covered with another area portal. That would be your windows and possibly that hallway to the left in the first picture (unless it is a dead end that is sealed).

yeah, the area portal only closes (goes non-see-though) when you can't see it (after all thats the point of an area portal)
