An older version of Valve's pl_cactuscanyon, preserved by Pikatf2, decompiled and recompiled with extremely slight adjustments to performance and playability (clipped stairs with blockbullets2 etc). No layout modifications have been made, for the sake of preservation.
The stickied Valve Maps(Decompiled) post hasn't been updated in a while, so I thought I'd re-decompile the latest maps.
Everything here was made possible with BSPSource; can't thank the developers of the app enough.

I decompiled one of Valve's own maps to practice mapping on, but when attempting to compile, I receive the MAX_MAP_BRUSHSIDES error. I read that this could be caused by the original .bsp having split faces due to the VBSP, but there are existing edits of the same map.

I'm new to hammer so I'm starting out by messing with the maps in the valve decompiled list so I could practice hammer before moving on to making my own map. This idea came to mind and I've been working on it off and on but now it is in a playable state. It still needs tuning so feed back on...
