Alright I've only been working on this for a couple nights now and it's ugly as hell, but I want to nail the gameplay before I detail it out. The layout is pretty barren right now but I thought I'd throw it out here to get some input.

The point is set up on top of a bridge with buildings on each side of the bridge. The train tracks run through the middle of the level and will ride on supports over the spawn.

First screen is the top view. Second two are side views. Last is what I'm planning on doing when I get more of the level fleshed out.

Rip it apart, criticize it, and tell me anything I can do to improve and add onto the layout.

very open and quite linear, maybe if the buildings spread out to left & right after bridge into a courtyardish area? overall Idea good though

Eh, I had a bridge that looks extremely similar to that in my arena map, which I decided to make a KotH map, I won't use it if you mind though.
Anyway about your map, it does look much too open at the moment, find a way to make it less sniper friendly and it looks like it could be real fun.

At the minute it looks very linear, you need to extend those buildings to provide other ways to get to the CP - Maybe add some maintenance walkways under the bridge which come up on either side of the control point. That would provide cover from snipers as well as allowing more than just 1 way for each team to reach the capture point.

Do a bit more work on layout then replace your screenshots for further criticism :)
Looks good so far though :D

The bridge is merely a model and a few brushes. I never knew there was a model like that till I saw it in Viaduct. I don't own the rights to it so just continue with what you're making.

I understand currently it's sniper friendly. I'm not worrying about that aspect till the actual layout is finished.

Just a suggestion: would it be possible to add a passage that exits underneath the bridge, a la 2fort, allowing spies and other types to get closer to the snipers without exposing themselves to headshots?

Potatocubed, your idea would be great combined with my original idea. Allowing plenty passage to the control point without going on top of the bridge.

And JoshuaC, there was no model until Viaduct - The model is located in the cp_badlands folder for some reason, maybe it was originally planned to be placed on the badlands bridge.

Excellent ideas, thanks! I'm gonna rip out most of the buildings I've got and remake them so they're a little more open. I'm thinking possibly the passage you suggested could be constructed of the supports the train sits on.

Hah, I had opened up badlands just to see where exactly they had used the model but obviously never found it.

Ah ok thanks, I actually made my bridge from only brushes, it just looked similar, didn't know there was a model for a similar one.

Okay I'm officially exhausted with this map. I've restarted it 4 times now and I can't seen to get anything to click. I think I might just scrap it and work on a different idea for a koth map.

First 2 screens are of what I was doing, I can't seem to delete the other ones.
