Although my entry doesn't hold much weight in this competion I felt the experience would benifit me. So, I've finished texturing, but I still need the skybox, optimization and a few details, so hopefully it shouldn't be too long. (If someone wouldn't mind linking me to a good 3d skybox tutorial thanks).

I hope that the backstory gives a little charm (if anything puts me in with a chance) because comparitivly I'm very much a hammiture.

I've tried to emphisize as much as I can the whole land swap by placing the teams in opposite colours and by showing the way the red first stormed the blue with wooden structures against the dug in base of the blue and how now blue is using the previous structures of red.

I planned it as western style invading through a landscape turning more modern and somwhere it changed into this, that starting point is present but not so much the focus of the design.

First Release
not much to say, since the post I've detailed a bit more and Im still working on it so some of the more obvious things I might have seen but feel free to help out where you think neccacary

Second Release
With this I've added some custom files from this site and fpsbanana.

Have fun!

P.S. For some reason whenever I'm on this site my keyboard starts being akward (the keys need to be pressed several times in some cases), so if any one can help with that just tell me the problame.

You'd need to look into it more. Those huge flat walls tell me nothing good.

Those rocky cliffs are very repetitive. Start by making them displacements, then add some variation in altitude around the cliffs.

you should also resize the wall textures to make them fit better as it looks like they are put one on top of the other and point B should probably be red because it starts out as being owned by red

The thing in this map is that Blue is trying to recapture their base from red after red noticed it was a Australium mine and took it over instead of tring to blow it up.

As for the walls which have been pointed out twice before, I have made them look much more diverse and varied. I should soon even be able to post the map.
So look forwards to it!

Also about the walls, try to match your displacments to the texture.
For example: if theres a rock in the texture make a hump there...
Looking forward to see what you can do!

EDIT: you might also try to align textures together, and align them to the floor (a line of rust in the middle of the wall doesn't make much sense, like the one in picture 4)

I'm assuming that you've placed a bar of Australium there in the fourth ss to add some depth, which is awesome, but for as scarce and valuable as Australium is, go hog wild and give it much more protection than a chain-link fence and some sheet metal walls, you build yourself a goddamned high security vault, son! :D Get some huge wraught-iron girders in there framing the door and the whole room along with some heavy metal walls. Hell, take it to the nines and find a good use for those god-awuful 'laser-fences' everyone loves building, lol. Also, the light on it is great for the emphasis, but it has no source.

Looks like you're well on the right track :) But do be a doll and make your displacements/texturing bring those cliffs to life instead of just painting them rocky.

Since the intial complaints I have changed the displacements, even though it doesn't really show that much in the screenshots. Currently I've worked quite a bit on the around the blu spawn buidings and now I'm going to do more work more on the displacments. I'll keep at it.

Why is there a platform with a single chair in your forth picture?

It's hard to see in that picture but above the platform are the controlls to the hook. I put it there so the buttons wouldn't look out of place but without it in the picture I suppose it looks out of place for the platform. (you can sort of see the last button)

Make it a control panel and the chair actually makes sense.
