Generic thread title out of the way, I thought I would finally post something here after reading the site for quite some time now.

I am an Aussie member so we don't often get many custom server maps with the odd exception here and there so I thought I would share some solo runthrough impressions of maps.

About me and TF2: I bought it as soon as it was available and started playing day one of the open beta (for The Orange Box preorders). Favourite maps would have to be Gravel Pit as well as some Granary and Well. These days most people are playing Payload so I try to get some of that as well as the odd deathmatch (don't shoot me for saying this) 2Fort Instaspawn. Thing is that I see everything as enjoyable depending on my mood - that is the best thing about Team Fortress 2, it has so much variety.

Most played classes would have to be Soldier, Eng, Medic and Heavy as I swear I am the worst Sniper in the entire World (I would have trouble with shooting a stationary target even if it had a bullseye on its head).

Mapping? Well I never release anything but I do enjoy having a play around to see what I can do - guess that is part of who I am, I enjoy making things as much as playing and Hammer gives that freedom to do just that.

So, that is it for me, I might post a few throughts on single player runthroughs of some maps that peak my interest and hope that helps out somewhat.

Thanks for all the welcomes everyone, it is appreciated :).

Do you have any maps that you are currently working on?

Nothing specific as yet, I am currently playing around with simpler maps and more trying designs and the like. For me it is something a bit relaxing (strange since it isn't always that way). I might post something sometime but for now I have to format my PC so it might take a bit longer.

Yay another Aussie

We seem to pop up all over the place don't we ;). With the servers, I have played a few US ones but my ISP doesn't seem to like them too much. I do have around a 5Mbit connection which isn't too bad locally but isn't the best for overseas.

Yay another Aussie.

You know, the US server is quite playable. EU however is not.
I think we need to start laying cables directly through the earth's core to get better ping times to Australia. Either that or get some faster-than-light communications tech happening.
