Vertarena a3
Take it back to a retro, arena-FPS-inspired Ultiduo map.
Currently in its early stages, this map is inspired by arena FPSes of old such as Quake and Unreal Tournament.
Two portals on either side of the map allow instant traversal between the sides of the maps - but beware, projectiles can pass through as well, allowing players to injure their opponent even when they can't see them.
High, narrow walls allow bomb spots from one of the spawns to the capture point, or further beyond, and the low ceiling of the capture point ensures that your precious height advantage can be gained but does not provide complete immunity from any splash damage the enemy might throw at you.
However, the main feature of this map that separates it from most (except Champions, which this map was also heavily inspired by) is the powerup system. Every 15 seconds, a random powerup will spawn on the ground floor below the point, giving a 15-second-long small buff to the player that picks it up, with varying effects depending on the powerup and class that picks it up. The catch is that all players must be alive, and if not, then the timer drains. A lava moat around the powerup area ensures that gathering a powerup is a risky but rewarding endeavour, on top of losing valuable high ground and cap point control - teams must decide which is more important.
This map supports Ultitrio in theory; the map is heavily balanced around Ultiduo and your experience may vary in Ultitrio.
