Fixed some stuff with the map.
  • Added smooth corners on brushwork
  • Deleted the health packs near spawn
  • Moved the health packs in the house flank to make it more clear that they are there
  • Changed light_enviroment to have new color and ambient
  • Added some stairs and windows here and there
  • Fixed some stairs
  • Used Skylark's "dev2" textures in some places
These changes barely make a difference player-wise but I just wanted to update the map to the latest version even if I'm thinking of switching work on a new map as I see this map has many flaws. The layout is thin and boring, people don't have fun fighting on the point and everything is just too cramped together. I might keep working on this but the map has just so many flaws it basically needs an entire rework to fix. I mean it's better than koth_lowroad but I feel like it really needs work and might be less horrible than koth_lowroad but still isn't good enough for me to keep working on.

After watching demo footage and taking feedback from testing several changes have been made for this map. Please inform me if these are good choices or if some changes should be reverted.
  • Changed health and ammo packs near mid to small instead of full and medium. This was made to avoid engineers exploiting the full ammo pack to put sentries near mid
  • Made doorframes much thinner
  • Expanded the capture area to match the orange markers
  • Clipped stairs and made them thinner
  • Added new routes to make the layout less of just a straight box
  • Fixed some doors not opening and broken spawn visualizers
  • Added more walls to give more players cover
  • Added one medium ammo pack near mid as people complained about not having much ammo there
