My rigid airship entry into the 2018 high-and-low contest
I submitted this map into the High & Low Detailing Mini-Contest in the summer of 2018.
This was my second entry into a contest, and I managed to place first a second time!
With this contest, I set out to do something unique in tf2. This time I'd use my knowledge of making curves in the source engine to build a level inside a rigid-airship. With this contest I was able to combine my passions for TF2, level design, and my interests in aircraft all into one project. I attended 2 airshows, one featuring WW1-WW2 aircraft, as well as visiting an aircraft museum for inspiration for this project.
In the end, I am very proud of what I created, but felt like I could have added a lot more structural detail and set-dressing to fully realize the setting.
I also fondly remember Egan introducing me to "The Wind Rises" from Studio Ghibli. (Great movie)
