My secret underground ICBM facility entry for the 2019 detail contest
This was my third time participating in a detail contest, 2019's Dusk till Dawn Detailing Contest, and in keeping up with the trend of the first two, I also placed first in this one.
If it wasn't obvious by now, I really love making round architecture.
I challenged myself to create a contrast between the upper and lower areas, and to work with mostly neutral colors and textures to really let the geometry and lighting stand out. I wish I had done a bit more with light and shadow, but I'm proud of what I achieved.
There's an emphasis on sound with this entry, with each area sounding unique.
I also made a scripted missile launch sequence which I am very proud of.
(A lot of people assumed I made custom particles, but idk how to do that. Its just the exhaust smoke from doomsday with a ton of env_lightglow entites overlapping each other)
