I've always found curved hallways to be terrible for TF2 gameplay. It encourages blind fire around corners (IE spam) and prevents tactical ambushes. It can also imbalance teams depending which direction it turns, even more so than a corner, and can contribute to stalemates due to the danger they pose whilst traversing one (like anti-cover).

But that's just me. Maybe i hate it more because everyone creams their pants when they see a curved hallway in TF2 simply because it goes against the games aesthetic/layout status quo. I'm not universally against curved walls, they look great in games where they fit, HL etc... I just don't like them in TF2.

I think part of what makes the Hydro curved area appealing is that:
  • It's wide enough that the curvature isn't too much, relatively speaking.
  • It has a vertical slope to it.

Take either of those away and it isn't quite as interesting or playable.

Now we're talkin'.

I would like to propose the defending side be "Ruby Saguaro Juice Co.", with the tagline: "It's the quenchiest!"

If you made t a giant metal one, covered in patch-Plates and having Rocket Paraphernalia on it, it might look OK.

Fill it with gravel, too.

Giant cactus-shaped gravel-piñata. Imagine the payload explosion for that sucker. I'm all tingly with excitement.

of course, take this advice with a grain of salt. For example, I happen to have a model of a robot hand holding a control point, suspended dramatically in the air :O. Yet I cannot for the life of me think of anything to do with it...
Also: it appears that cacti > this thread

I had the idea of escorting a laser beacon to the edge of a high cliff, where it fires a small laser at a big laser base in the distance.

Then a B-52 bomber flies overhead and drops a thermonuclear bomb on the target.

Is that special enough?

Heh, that actually looks like the Engi's hand. If you did that prior Engi update, I say USE THAT.

Does this mean I get to fullfill my dream of having a payload cart moving down a lift?

Hello old ass thread, could we perhaps have this old ass thread's images reinstated at some point? I like this old ass thread.
