Greetings! Normally I skip these kinds of things as many forums are too big for anyone to remember this stuff and only the new folk read them... Howeeeevvvveeerrrrr, it would appear that these forums do move a bit. 
I don't know that I'd ever get into tf2 mapping (as much as I'd love to), but I love forum whoring. And this place is a great resource, so I'ma contributor.
Ummm... My name is Scott (my current handle on tf2 is Brobot, though I originally went by e=mcHAMMER). I am a tf2 addict. I frequent the saigns.de servers, as I love their little class tweaks. I feel like the game moves much faster and is just more enjoyable! But I may show up on any server flagged with increased_maxplayers, so watch out. :0 My favorite map by far is cp_fastlane. I haven't really played any custom maps, as the servers I tend to stick to play more popular Valve-only maps. So I would love to see the custom work in the community and maybe (when I'm out of college and land a cushy job) run a custom-maps-only server that will most likely always be dead as "client-side maps are the death of any server." It's a shame that people are too lazy to wait an extra 15 seconds for new maps!
So my favorite class is the demoman. Since I play on saigns.de servers where every class has a small tweak, I'm used to him having 6 shells instead of 4. On base servers, I find it very frustrating and often revert to engineer and soldier. Am I a scrub for feeling that a 6-shell demoman is more balanced? (Keep in mind that other classes have minor tweaks as well).
Anyone have a recommendation for servers that play good custom maps, at least as a part of their regular rotation?
